Nicolas Sarkozy wishes to remain "president of the eurozone" for another year. ++ Chances are this coup will work, given the current situation. ++ The financial turmoil will likely require another eurozone summit meeting to address lingering problems; existing bank recapitalization plans need revision on a European level; Germany's push for minimal eurozone intervention is not nearly as popular as the broader action proposed by France. ++ Merkel will not "be able to say nein forever without making positive contributions of her own."
