Sino-US Relations: Fundamental Misunderstandings

The US has failed to understand that China's objectives do not complement America's. ++ China does not want the US to play a role in Central and East Asia, and its actions routinely illustrate this. ++ By adopting a tolerant stance, and failing to illustrate its strength, the US demonstrates its continued misunderstanding of Chinese intentions and ensures that existing problems will only worsen with time.
