Wait Until They Get Serious
Thomas L. Friedman, The New York Times | November 9, 2009
Until the Israelis and Palestinians are serious about reaching a peace agreement, the US should get out of the picture. ++ The US has only been successful in furthering peace when both parties perceived to be in a mutually hurting stalemate and invited diplomacy ++ The Israelis and Palestinians are not feeling enough pain yet, as "the Palestinian leadership wants a deal with Israel without negotiations and Israel's leadership wants negotiations with the Palestinians without any deal." ++ "If and when they get serious, they'll find us."
