Why Germany Loves Iran

Editorial, The Wall Street Journal | November 28 , 2008

Yesterday, German entrepreneurs met to discuss how to intensify business with Iran. ++ Bank Melli’s connection to Tehran’s nuclear program has given the EU reason to freeze assets of Iran’s largest bank, but Germany refuses to go “beyond the relatively soft UN trade restrictions.” ++ In view of rising exports, Germany has become the largest European exporter to Iran. ++ Unlike other European countries “Germany remains held back by tradition from putting real pressure on Iran.” ++ Germany must be aware of its exceptional influence on Iran.

I like this comment! What's this?
In a global village, everyone is a villager!? The question that then comes over and about, peeping behind one nice flowering flame-in-the-forest tree is - "what does it mean to be living in a village?" The answer to that not merely describes the one who is answering, but also the various differences that are there between different villages. I know of a village and a story contained therein: about precisely such questions, (without exonerating Iran about and over its nice religious flags, etc). is contained in a story called "The Swan Land: The Silliness" (anyone can find it at www.authortree.com/kraftnetz, without sneezing about the price-tag for a single story contained therein !). Germany perhaps knows to separate a regime from its people for very few other states have known the price that comes from not only antagonistical socialization of hatred, but also the very valid concerns expressed in Hermann Hesse's novel called "Damian" - in its reference to the biblical story of Cain & Abel.
That and Ayn Rand's objectivism - one never knows, but the Germans sure do know how to build some of the best circuitry in the global village. Thankfully, they also like some philosophy. Together - well! Maybe...
