"30 Years of China-Japan Relations"

Editorial, Asahi | October 28, 2008

30 years after the signing of the Japan-China Peace and Friendship Treaty, the two countries are now more than ever in a position to create positive change in Asia and abroad. ++ The two countries can cooperate on "the regional financial crisis; nuclear disarmament of North Korea; global warming; and creating a regional immediate response system for natural disasters or infectious diseases." ++ To improve relations China must make its military policies more transparent; Japan must balance its important ties to the US and China.
