"Fire-Tested but Not Burnt Out" Leaders, Please

Mark Lawson, The Guardian | September 26, 2008

Brown and McCain value experience as a virtue. ++ Especially McCain's strategy is contradictionary: he portrays himself as a politician who has enough experience to shape the decision about the financial rescue package, and as a Washington outsider at the same time. ++ However, neither Obama nor McCain have executive experience. ++ In the US and UK voters are looking for somebody "who is fire-tested but not burnt out." ++ Presumably, the election outcomes will prove that McCain and Brown are the latter.
