"Obama, Dafur and ICC Justice"

Eric Reeves, The Christian Science Monitor | November 25, 2008

The most pressing moral issue the next US administration will have to face, is the genocide that is taking place in Dafur. ++ The International Criminial Court is likely to issue a warrant for arresting Sudan’s president, al-Bashir, “charging him with crimes against humanity and genocide in Darfur.” ++ President-elect Obama should support the legitimacy of the ICC and provide UNAMID with more aid. ++ The EU should be pushed to pose monetray sanctions. ++ China must be pressured to “condemn all threats from the UN.”
