"Obama the Imperialist"

Barack Obama is revealing himself to be a foreign policy hawk. ++ After just one week, his stance on Sudan, Pakistan and Gaza shows bellicosity. ++ To pursue such a stance, he will need the support of the pro-war left, “voracious defenders” of a 21st C brand of liberal imperialism. ++ In spite of the Iraq catastrophe, humanitarian intervention in Darfur and escalation in Afghanistan remain in favor among the liberal intelligentsia. ++ The victims of such an agenda, which history has displayed time and again, apparently do not feature in this policy.
