A Green Chinese Energy and Environmental Policy?

Wang Qishan, Vice Premier Chinese State Council | June 17, 2008

The 4th China-US Economic Dialogue will be held in the US this week. ++ The US and China can only win when cooperating in the energy and environment sector. ++ Chinese officials state they are working on reducing energy consumption by 20% by 2010 and setting goals: "Intensify energy and resource conservation. Develop renewable energy. Actively adapt to global climate change." ++ In return, China wants US technology and experience. ++ There is hope for an "all-round growth of the China-US relationship."
