Because of the transatlantic dispute about the Iraq war, the transatlantic know-how exchange has been neglected. ++ But with the high oil prices it becomes obvious to the US that it can learn from the EU: Europe, due to higher gasoline taxes had to contend with rising oil prices long before the current increases. ++ The transatlantic “learning community,” which is emerging to manage the increase in oil cost, demonstrates that "there is more to the European-American relations than disagreement."
