America is Back in the Pacific

Tom Donilon, US National Security Advisor | November 28, 2011

The Obama administration is working closely with eight regional economies to realize "a Trans-Pacific Partnership, an ambitious, high-standard trade agreement." ++ "Security in the region requires that international law and norms be respected, that commerce and freedom of navigation are not impeded." ++ The United States will have to reduce defense spending over the next 10 years, but not at the expense of the Asia Pacific region. ++ "There will be no diminution of our military presence or capabilities in the region."
