Catholic Church Could Use Miss Manners
Matthias Kamann, Die Welt (in German) | June 18, 2010
The affair surrounding Bishop Mixa clearly demonstrates that the Catholic Church is far too preoccupied with its own internal problems. ++ “Things do not look good for the Catholic Church in Germany.” ++ Scandal has become the only means of communication within the Church, where frozen hierarchies prevent much-needed dialogue. ++ The Church’s social graces do not impress much either. ++ Instead of name-calling and wild accusations, the Church would do well to remember its manners.
