China Quietly Reshapes Asia

Through investment in infrastructure projects China is quickly gaining influence in Russia’s Far East and Central Asia. ++ Beijing lent $25billion to Russian state-owned oil company Rosneft and pipeline manufacturer Transneft in order to complete ESPO oil pipeline. ++ “Although the direct cause of this move is the global economic crisis, the root cause is the mismanagement of the Russian energy industry.” ++ Sino-Russian relations are at an all time high but how long will Moscow be able to make policy concessions in regards?
