China and India Must Seal the Border Deal!

Editorial, The Times of India | August 14, 2009

After the 13th round of border talks, India and China have still not found a solution to their territorial dispute. ++ Despite the ongoing conflict China has become a crucial trading partner for India, even surpassing the US. ++ Failure to develop lucrative economic ties is the major consequence of heated confrontation. ++ While China demands Aksai Chin, the Chinese-controlled Arunachal Pradesh is an undeniable part of India. ++ “New Delhi would lose little by giving up Aksai Chin” so an east-west swap would be an appropriate way forward.
