President Obama is in London to cement what is described as "an essential relationship". ++ Obama's European approval ratings lie at 70% and have not changed since he took office despite much of what Europeans disapproved of in the Bush-era remaining as Obama prepares to run for a second term. ++ High approval for Obama shows disillusionment for Europe's leaders as Berlusconi and Sarkozy's approval ratings lie at 30% in their own countries. ++ The European tour is an opportunity for a reset of the European relationship.
