Fighting Talibanization of Pakistan

Yasmeen Hassan, Equality Now | January 28, 2009

A ban on educating girls: one of the latest atrocities imposed by the Taliban in Pakistan. ++ "Radio announcements warned girls that they could be attacked with acid if they dared to attend school, and teachers have been threatened and killed." ++ As a nation topping Obama's war on terror, generous monetary concessions are scheduled to flow into the country. ++ These much needed moral and financial commitments ought to be accompanied by monitoring as well as conditionality in order to obtain a de facto detabilanization of Pakistan.
