Germany Wants US Nukes out

Germany's new coalition government has outlined its policy program promising tax cuts and maintaining nuclear power. ++ There has been a huge change in foreign policy with foreign minister Guido Westerwelle pushing Washington to remove its nuclear weapons from Germany. ++ With limited English and little foreign policy experience Westerwelle is not the ideal person for the US to deal with. ++ However, the new defense minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg “is already a familiar, even reassuring, figure in Washington” balancing the personnel.
