Mohammed Shahwani has quit over Iranian spies row with Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. ++ “Without the backstop of U.S. support, Iraqi authorities are now desperately vulnerable to pressure, especially from neighboring Iran.” ++ It is increasingly rumored that Tehran is responsible for bomb attacks and assassinations in the country. ++ “As security unravels, U.S. forces in Iraq are mostly bystanders” as the country is increasingly influenced by Iran.
