Israel Is Ready for Hezbollah

Israel will not accept Hezbollah as part of the Lebanese government, or as a political entity, says Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. ++ Hezbollah is “seeking a national unity government that guarantees a real partnership’” after retaining political gravitas despite defeat in the June elections. ++ Systemic criticism indicates that Israeli right may be planning to correct the mistakes of 2006 but are first attempting to find a justification. ++ However, Hezbollah is now an influential political player in Lebanon providing a legitimate opposition.
