Obama's Afterthought: Is the EU Getting Short Shrift?

Leo Cendrowicz, Times | November 23, 2010

The recent EU-US Summit has generated an interesting debate among observers. ++ For some, Republicans increased power after the US mid-term elections may threaten transatlantic coordination on major issues such as “climate change and trade”. ++ For others, the summit was not as exciting as others as EU and the US tend to agree on everything. ++ Yet, President Obama’s stress on an increased transatlantic role in setting the global agenda will be rendered useless if the US and EU fall short of building on their common outlook.
