Obama Should Present Bold New Fiscal Plan

Clive Crook, Financial Times | September 5, 2011

President Obama must provide Americans with a clear message on jobs and the economy in his upcoming address to Congress. ++ He should break from Democrats and appeal to voters with a new plan that includes a more wide-reaching stimulus in combination with fiscal restraint. ++ Convincing voters is the key to gaining support in Congress. The only way for the President to overcome Republican opposition and resistance from Democrats is to present the American public with "far reaching plans to restore public finances".
