Please Be Polite, Politicians!

Jackie Ashley, The Guardian | June 7, 2010

Name-calling does not solve political problems in Britain. Teamwork and politeness lead to better results. ++ “Westminster nastiness was weird … [and] put normal people off politics.” ++ The new coalition honeymoon has led to some admirable cooperation. ++ Whereas the Tories say they will axe spending, the Liberal Democrats promote these as “sensitive, caring cuts.” The coalition may hurt Clegg’s party. ++ Should the coalition fail, then “nasty politics will be back,” ironically allowing Labour “to pose as the ‘clean’ party”.

I like this comment! What's this?
The Guardian is the last publication on earth that could try to make an appeal of that sort with a straight face. In fact is sounds like the cry of a bully that finally got his due. There is no shortage of strawman arguments and overblown, politically useful non-issues to be found in its' pages daily.

The abiding truth about the political tactics of the left are that hating happy normal people make them feel smart, and that bubbles through every initative they undertake until election time when they change course, using ancient preolatian pandering as a means of trying to tell the voters that they care.

Take my word for it, I lived in the DDR, and little of the socialist methodology has changed other than the way it's packaged to make the same old tactics used in the late 19th century look fresh and new.
