To their disadvantage, Europe's leaders are divided regarding China. ++ A visit from the Dali Lama to a European Parliament session has disgruntled one of Germany's and most of Europe's largest trading partners. ++ The presence of certain political figures at the Beijing games could convey mixed signals regarding Europe's stance on human rights, as well as a dependence on China's cheap exports.
