Revolution Needed in Pakistan to Make State Work

Dr Farzana Bari, Quaid-e-Azam University | January 13, 2008

Pakistan is still suffering the consequences of its colonial past. ++ The western nation-state model has failed at the internal level and led to damaging consequences: leaderships have always been more concerned with keeping their power than addressing the people's needs. ++ No wonder the current government once again finds itself incapable of addressing domestic problems. ++ Success and survival of governments require the nature of the state "to be completely transformed in favor of the poor and marginalized sections of society."
