Talks with the Taliban Possible in New US Approach

Editorial, Dawn | March 11, 2009

Sober assessment of the situation in Afghanistan and Pakistan has prompted a recasting of policy from President Obama. ++ Reconciliation with moderate aspects of the Taliban should be considered. ++ The need exists to combine "force with talks" while also working toward economic development. ++ Peace with the Taliban must not mean that they are allowed to enforce extreme measures, such as the oppression of women. ++ Should an agreement be reached with the militants, they must agree to abide by it in "letter and spirit."

I like this comment! What's this?
The only way we can deal with Taliban is for us to fully understand their culture and ways of life. We must understand that our way of life does not fit their society. If there are any changes, it must come from them and not from us.

Dealing with the radical Taliban groups will be almost impossible. The radical groups are very much connected to Al Qaida. Their plattform is to spread radical Islam around the world, to convert or destroy others who are not of their religious believes.
