The Looming Narrative

Thomas L. Friedman, The New York Times | November 30, 2009

The Narrative, "the cocktail of half-truths, propaganda and outright lies about America," has become omnipresent in the Arab-Muslim world, although most of the Muslims killed today are being killed by jihadist suicide bombers. ++ The majority of the media sending out such messages are government owned, as the Narrative serves as an escape for leaders to honestly look at themselves. ++ Obama should encourage his muslim audiences to stop stating what Islam is not and start showing how its positive interpretations are being promoted.
