Our open think tank has grown in numbers and influence. Among atlantic-community.org's more than one thousand followers on both Facebook and Twitter are not only graduate students, young professionals and senior experts, but also increasingly leading politicians, who read our members' ideas as they set the transatlantic agenda.
Atlantic Community’s 1000th Twitter follower, for example, is Dr. Eva Högl, a member of the German parliament from the Social Democrats. The presence of politicians from other parties on our Twitter page, such as Volker Beck, MP and Green Party whip and Lasse Becker, chairman of the youth wing of the Liberal Democrats, show the depth and diversity of our following in Germany.
International political luminaries have also chosen to subscribe to us on Twitter, such as Kevin Rudd, the Foreign Minister of Australia, and Dmitry Rogozin, Russia’s ambassador to NATO.
We appreciate that Professor Anthony Clark Arend, director of the Masters of Science in Foreign Policy at Georgetown University, recommended us to his network with his recent tweet: "Visit the website of the Atlantic Community! Great material on int'l affairs!"
Many of our social media followers, such as Dr. Högl and Christopher Slade, our 1000th "fan" on Facebook, are not yet members of atlantic-community.org. This means that, while our own community is already over 5700 registered members strong, we have a much larger base with our Facebook and Twitter following taken into account.
The Atlantic Community gives you a voice in the wide world of transatlantic relations. The best policy recommendations in your comments and op-eds are compiled in a series of Atlantic Memos, which are read by leading politicians and can potentially influence their foreign policy decisions.
In addition to joining atlantic-community.org for free and contributing articles and comments, we urge you to engage with us on Facebook and Twitter as well the Google Plus network. For an invite to this emerging network, send your Gmail address to
