Model G8 Youth Summit in Japan
I. Project Summary
Modeled after the G8 summit, participants will represent their respective countries as national representatives involved in policymaking, and discuss global issues in this context.
Our final accord will be presented as a common declaration, and any obtained results will be given back to society in the form of recommendations and increased social awareness of various underlying issues.
II. Aims
- To grow a new generation of leaders and facilitate networking among all participants.
- To voice recommendations for international society obtained through industrial, governmental, and academic collaboration.
- Provide an opportunity for participants to raise awareness both among themselves and non-participants regarding international issues.

Monday, March 10th, 2008 --- Saturday, March 15th, 2008

Keio University Yagami and Mita campuses
V. Contents
Participants will be involved in the following:
- A trip to the embassy of the country they will be representing
- Model summits of governmental heads and cabinet-level members
- One or more cultural exchange events
- Panel discussion regarding industrial, governmental, and academic collaboration
- An opinion exchange session with high school students of Yokohama
- External evaluations regarding discussions and declarations, etc
The panel discussion will be chaired by Mr Heizo TAKENAKA, who held the posts of Minister of internal affairs and communications and Minister of Post and Telecommunications during the Koizumi cabinet.
