Transatlantic Summer Programs on Human and Minority Rights in Berlin, Warsaw, and New York

Students in or from Germany and Recent Graduates - Make up your mind now!

HUMANITY IN ACTION is a transatlantic organization. It brings together European students and
students from the US with an active interest in human and minority
rights and in the exchange of ideas and opinions with the aim of
defending and enhancing them. HUMANITY IN ACTION provides
its alumni with an international network of experts, activists and key
players within the field that acts as a support and mentoring system
along their future career paths.

HUMANITY IN ACTION will
host various Summer Programs on Human and Minority Rights in Europe and
the United States. Participants receive a full scholarship covering
most expenses of their participation in the Programs. The Summer
Programs are designed to provide a starting point for networking within
the field of human and minority rights. Successful participants will
have the opportunity to participate in various internship programs, for
example with the European Parliament, the US-Congress and the
International Criminal Tribunal for the Former
Yugoslavia. They also
have the chance to enter the Senior Fellow Network, providing them with
a valuable and supportive network, as well as a series of activities
related to human and minority rights.

German Summer Program (Berlin): June 5 - July 8, 2009
Polish Summer Program (Warsaw): June 5 - July 8, 2009
US Summer Program (New York): July 3 - August 9, 2009

The European HUMANITY IN ACTION
Summer Programs run simultaneously in Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen,
Paris, and Warsaw. For the Berlin, Warsaw and New York Programs we
invite applications from students in or from Germany or recent
graduates. You can apply for more than one of the programs but only
take part in one of them.

Summer Programs: During the first
three weeks of the Summer Programs, the participants will engage in
discussions with activists, politicians and academic experts on how to
deal with the various human rights and minority issues in the countries
that host the Summer Program. The focus will be contemporary as well as
historic. For a further two weeks, the participants are expected to
work in small, international teams to research an individually chosen
topic that they have touched upon during the program.
