"Turning North Korea Around"

John Delury, China Boom Project | November 19th, 2009

Korean peninsula denuclearization talks will resume shortly with a renewed hope for success. ++ “The US needs to pursue constructive economic engagement with North Korea to help the regime achieve 'strength and prosperity' through economic transition and integration with the global economy.” ++ Of course this will not directly cause denucleariztion but it will set the conditions. ++ However, Washington will have trouble encouraging this as North Korea's neighbours are weary with the failure to make progress on bilateral disputes.
