Assistant Director for Finance and Operations, NYU Berlin
New York University (NYU), with 50,000 students the largest private university in the U.S., is currently searching for a full-time Assistant Director for Finance and Operations for its study abroad site in Berlin.
NYU Berlin enrolls about 60-80 U.S. students of diverse academic backgrounds every semester and offers courses in cultural studies, sociology, politics, studio art, art history and environmental studies with a particular focus on issues related to Germany and Europe.
Position Description:
The Assistant Director for Finance and Operations will assist the Director in providing financial and operational oversight for NYU Berlin including budget planning, accounting and financial reporting, human resources management, as well as negotiation of supplier contracts (a full job description is available upon request).
The Assistant Director will support day-to-day operations by serving as the primary contact in Berlin for addressing operational concerns, and mediating communication between NYU Berlin and the Office of Global Programs in New York to ensure the smooth functioning of the site and integration of site operations with comprehensive University policies and procedures.
Requirements:
Education:
MA or MBA preferred
Bilingual: German / English
Experience:
Five years of progressively responsible experience as a financial or budget analyst, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include experience with financial model design and reporting, as well as business accounting.
Work permit for Germany.
