Assisting the Water Integrity Network Secretariat at Transparency International

 
The WIN-S, the Water Integrity Network Secretariat, situated in Berlin, is seeking a highly motivated intern.

Main function: Assisting the WIN Secretariat
Starting Date
: 1 March 2010 (or earlier as feasible)
Duration
: Three months, with possible extension of another three months Remuneration: EUR 400 per month, if the internship is not sponsored by a third party
Location
: Berlin, Germany

Key responsibilities
:General office management

  • Supporting team members with travel planning and travel cost reimbursement;
  • Responding to requests for assistance/information by WIN members;
  • Managing the “info” e-mail account;
  • Assist in maintenance of membership database and other membership issues;
  • Distribute materials/ publications when needed;
  • Help with writing news items and maintaining the WIN web site;
  • Other tasks may arise depending on the need of the WIN Secretariat;
  • Assist with organizing the WIN Steering Committee meetings and other meetings and international conferences as necessary.

Knowledge, experience and skills:

  • Strong computer skills (MS OFFICE);
  • Self motivating, initiative, keen to learn and work in a team;
  • Service oriented with excellent written communication skills;
  • Fluency in English as WIN’s principal working language as well as Spanish or French is required, as all WIN communication is in these three languages,
  • Working knowledge in other UN languages is an advantage;
  • Exposure to other cultures and continents;
  • Affinity with the WIN mission and objectives focusing the water sector specifically;
  • Preferred candidates would have some experience in supporting the organization of international workshops and seminars;
  • Higher educational background relating to water sector or environmental management would be an advantage.
