GPPI Seeks a Full-time Researcher on Humanitarian Assistance
The Global Public Policy Institute (GPPI) seeks to further strengthen its Berlin office team, offering a Research Assistant position with a focus on humanitarian assistance and global governance (full-time).The successful candidate will work on this research and dialog project
and will also support the
Humanitarian Assistance program more broadly. Specifically, the
candidate is responsible for:
- Design, setup and organization of the Transatlantic Dialogue on Humanitarian Action(TDHA) to take place in Berlin or Brussels in July 2010
- AssistanceResearch in the area of EU and US approaches to Food Aid and Food
- Proposal writing and project acquisition
- Research and other organizational support related to ongoing projects in the humanitarian program
What we are looking for:
- outstanding graduate degree in international relations, the social sciences or related fields (M. A. or equivalent)
- solid background in global governance and humanitarian assistance
- outstanding analytical and writing skills as well as organizational skills
- excellent English language skills, mother-tongue an asset but not a must
- willingness and ability to bring people from different backgrounds (policy-makers, civil society, academia, business) together to commonly work on policy issues
- knowledge of EU and US approaches to Food Aid and Food Security desirable
- knowledge of German an asset but not a must
