Researcher, Political Analyst

The Center for Security Studies (CSS) at ETH Zurich, a university-based research institute and think-tank, seeks to employ, at the earliest, a Researcher / Political Analyst (100%)

Area of responsibility: You will produce analysis on strategic trends and key issues in international security. In your capacity as an analyst with broad-ranging expertise in geopolitical developments and security policy, you will contribute to the CSS policy briefs and other think-tank products of the institute. In addition, you will be in charge of a specific research field within the CSS. Your area of responsibility also includes maintaining contacts with foreign partner institutes and conceptualizing and organizing conferences.

Requirements:

- University degree (preferably PhD) in political science/international relations or a related discipline;

- Expertise in the field of security studies; knowledge of geoeconomics, energy, and political risk desirable;

- Excellent analytical skills;

- Experience in authoring policy-oriented publications;

- Experience working in a think-tank setting / policy-focused environment a major plus;

- Excellent written and spoken English language skills; good German a plus;
