Crisis Group is seeking a Senior Analyst to report on the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict.

Widely recognised as the world’s leading independent, non-partisan source of analysis and advice to governments and intergovernmental bodies on the prevention and resolution of deadly conflict, Crisis Group is seeking a Senior Analyst to report on the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict.
Job Description
Based in Jerusalem, the Senior Analyst will work under the supervision of the Program and Deputy Program Directors to research and produce reports on security, political, governance, human rights and social issues related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, with heavy emphasis on the domestic Palestinian dimension. Regional travel and travel to US and European advocacy capitals will be required.

Responsibilities
- Conducts extensive field research and provides analysis on prevailing security, social, legal, governance, and political issues, especially in Palestine;
- Proposes policy initiatives for the relevant governmental, intergovernmental, political, and non-governmental actors to address and resolve sources of conflict;
- Prepares detailed reports and briefing papers, setting out relevant research findings and policy recommendations; and
- Liaises with relevant staff from Crisis Group’s advocacy offices on the implementation of particular advocacy initiatives developed in pursuit of a comprehensive settlement to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of Palestinian history and politics, as well as wider Middle East issues;
- Extensive contacts with government and non-government officials, media, and academia in Israel and Palestine;
- 5+ years of professional experience in conflict analysis, journalism, NGO, IGO or government work related to the Israeli-Palestinian and Israeli-Arab conflicts;
- Excellent writing, research and analytical skills;
- Fluency in English and Arabic, with knowledge of Hebrew an asset;
- M.A. or Ph.D. in international relations, political science, sociology, history or similar field;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including proficiency in public speaking; and
- Ability to work closely with a team as well as independently.
