Transatlantic Media Network Program Coordinator and Research Assistant

Job Summary:
The CSIS Transatlantic Media Network (TMN) promotes excellence in journalism through the development of an expanding network of media representatives from both sides of the Atlantic for the exchange of journalistic resources and mutual professional support. A principal goal is to create a network of journalists, media groups, journalism schools, and policymakers in Europe and the United States to stimulate interest in the transatlantic relationship, the international consequences of European integration, and changing U.S. world views. TMN aims to help editors and reporters keep abreast of events and ideas on either side of the Atlantic by organizing numerous activities, including conferences, visiting fellowships, working groups, studies, an Internet forum, journalistic exchanges, and other communicational activities such as the publication of handbooks for foreign correspondents.
TMN is seeking a full-time program coordinator/research assistant.
Description of Duties:
- Manage the Transatlantic Media Fellowship program, orchestrating logistics, travel arrangements, and administering expenditures for European journalists participating in three-month cultural diplomacy fellowships.
- Maintain TMN university and community partnerships.
- Organize semiannual environmental journalism conferences as part of the Forum on Atlantic Media and the Environment.
- Create conference reports.
- Monitor and analyze media coverage of global affairs and current events for distribution to a transatlantic network of journalists.
- Lead social media outreach.
- Prepare monthly expense reports.
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree
- The candidate must be a highly organized self-starter, able to manage competing priorities.
- Candidate must possess strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
- Accounting and event planning experience a plus
