USAK Think Tank Internship and Training Program
USAK (International Strategic Research Organization), a Turkish think tank based in Ankara, accepts internship applications year-round. The internship program trains interns in a range of USAK activities, including academic research and day-to-day assistance in different offices. The USAK internship and training programs also give interns the chance to attend seminars and lessons administered by USAK or appointed external experts.
The internship program runs for a period of approximately four weeks. The program requires full attendance except in the case of a legitimate excuse. Interns who successfully complete the program are given a certificate of success with the approval of the USAK Internship Coordinator.
The Aim of the Program:
The USAK Internship and Training Program aims to expand USAK’s range of activities and improve the abilities and expertise of the participants. Participants contribute to USAK’s activities with their study and knowledge of particular fields.
USAK’s goal is to train researchers in specialized fields, to improve their analytical abilities and help them think critically. Upon completion of the program, interns will have gained a great deal of experience while putting their knowledge to practical use, gaining access to resources, and further developing their reading and writing skills.
Main Duties and Responsibilities of an Intern:
Internships at the USAK centers and departments can be full-time or part-time positions depending on the candidate’s interest and the needs of the particular USAK program. Duties differ from center to center but generally involve research, news compilation, administrative support, and event organization.
Who Can Apply?
USAK gives priority to university graduate students, but undergraduate students may also apply to USAK internship program. However, due to the wide range and high volume of applicants, the selection process is highly competitive. Considering USAK’s facilities, students of international relations, political science, sociology, economics, business administration, translation and interpretation — to the extent that they can prove their ability and knowledge in their repective field — are also welcome to apply to the internship program.
