Global Perspectives: The Human Rights Issue
Human rights are the basic rights and freedoms to which all humans are entitled, as they exist in morality and in law at both the national and international level. Whether challenging governments, holding abusers accountable, or joining a cause to support human rights for all, this delicate fight centered around fundamental freedoms and basic human dignity is immense. It is progressively scrutinized and understood as a conflicted topic, with varying and extreme positions that give rise to controversy. As human rights becomes an increasingly more complex issue in today’s pluralistic world, we at Global Perspectives challenge this year’s writers to focus on the provocative topic of human rights and its impact on global relations.
